Phoenix Java User's Group - Statement of Origin

More information about PHXJUG

We, the Java professionals of the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, do hereby freely assemble to insure the existence of the Phoenix Java User's Group. We openly support, and willingly contribute, to the mission of the Phoenix Java User's Group:

"To provide an organized environment for corporate Java developers that educates members regarding Java standards, enhancements and coding styles; provides an opportunity for Java developers to openly share and exchange ideas, knowledge, source code, and experiences; introduce Java tools and solutions; make accessible to its members a library of resources; and provide Java answers and solutions."

We assemble together to:

  1. provide a forum for Java professionals for their mutual benefit, increased understanding, proficiency and productivity using Java and related products;

  2. provide an opportunity for Java developers to exchange ideas, knowledge, and experience for the enrichment of all concerned;

  3. provide an opportunity for both formal and informal education in both software and hardware as it relates to Java development;

  4. provide a medium of communication with user groups in other areas;

  5. provide a medium for the exchange of public domain and contributed software. The illegal copying, use, or distribution of software will not be condoned;

  6. assist members and others in acquiring computer hardware and software information;

  7. promote the effective interchange of ideas between members and other users and vendors of computer hardware and software;

  8. insure the continued growth of Java as a language as well as a platform;

  9. support Sun Microsystems and JavaSoft in the promotion of the "write once, run anywhere"TM initiative.
